Welcome to Thursday Art and Dinner Date!! Today’s optional art prompt is “Nutcracker”. I chose a scene from the Disney movie Fantasia for today’s prompt. The 1940’s animated classic featured music from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker Suite” as Disney’s animators created visuals to the music. “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, composed by Paul Dukas, was the music behind this scene. Though the apprentice was Mickey Mouse in the movie, Daffy decided to take on that role for our art date this week!
I sketched out the scene, uploaded it to my computer and used my photo editing software to fix up the colors and lines. The background image is courtesy of royalty-free Pixabay.
