Welcome to Thursday Art and Dinner Date! Today’s optional art prompt is “Favorite Animals”. As you well know my friends, dogs are my heart. All of these babies in this photo are no longer with me. From left to right: Stella, Marlene, Charlie, Pavlov and Jack.

Now five more fur-angels have blessed my life! From left: Ali-Fay, Miley, Benny Bear, Raven; and in front, Lulu-Lucy. I call this photo “Benny and his Harem”. ☺

I had these two pugs, Winston and Spencer for 15 (Winston) and 19 years (Spencer). They were such clowns! And my childhood dog’s name was Fluffy. I didn’t have a photo of her so I drew her to keep her memory alive. People said she was an Old English Sheepdog, but I think she was a Bearded Collie.

I’ve had a lot of pets in my life: dogs, cats, fish, birds, squirrels and even once a ferret!!! But dogs are my absolute favorite animal. Jack, my late canine soulmate, captured and stole my heart.

My dogs are my best friends! ♥♥

Love this Post!
Such a wonderful post, Rain. I’ve loved seeing your pets over the years. And you know Jack had a special spot in my heart. Thanks for this moving post. I answered the question in teacher mode without thinking, because many students have answered “What’s your favorite animal?” over the years. So I picked platypus. 😂. Of course my favorite animal was and remains my Scottie, MacBeath. Have a good week!
Dogs are such wonderful companions. If my husband weren’t seriously allergic, we would have at least one dog. Your canine friends are so sweet and beautiful. I still remember Jack from your posts.
Friends to remember… they live on as long as they´re in your heart.
Dear Rain, these are adorable dog stories and photos! I’m happy that you have five furry friends again, who will definitely enrich your life. I never had a dog, mainly for professional reasons (not enough time at home) and because when you travel a lot, it’s easier to have neighbors look after cats. And I loved all my cats. At the moment we only have the adorable Maine Coon visiting cat Samia, who you can see in my current post. There were also other animals in my life, budgies and guinea pigs, and in my circle of friends there were many animals that I also loved – especially dogs, cats, birds and horses, but unfortunately many of them have passed away in the meantime. Unfortunately, it’s always only for a short time… but they are wonderful friends!
Hugs and all the best, Traude
