Thursday Art and Dinner Date: Disco

Disco Duck!

Welcome to Thursday Art and Dinner Date! Today’s optional art prompt is “Disco”! Daffy finally found an acting job that he could totally relate to! ☺ He sure has the moves!

I drew Daffy’s outline in my sketchbook, then took a photo and uploaded it to my computer. Using Photoshop, I colored him in and cleaned up the image. I made the background transparent and superimposed this Disco Duck onto a royalty-free image I found on Pixabay. Fun fun fun! I was listening to the soundtrack of Saturday Night Fever as I drew this!

Dinner Date: Peanut Butter Dog Cookies

For our dinner date, I made some Peanut Butter Dog Cookies! I make this recipe every few weeks so that the furries always have some treats available. Click on the link above for the recipe!

Here is Benny Bear, as flexible as a puppy! I don’t know how this is comfortable!

Here is a video I made of the dogs eating the cookies. I’ve had the 3 newbies for just over six weeks now and they are learning very quickly! Aren’t they cute?

  1. Hello Rain,
Love your Disco Daffy and your sweet Benny Bear!
Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.

  2. Rain,

Great job! I love your Disco Duck!! Although you listened to the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack for inspiration the first song that popped in my head was Rick Dees novelty song. People either love it or hate it. I’m one of those who love it for no other reason than it’s just a fun song with a good beat! I shared art on Thursday but I’m off prompt which always causes me to hesitate to join. Great job! Oh I bet the doggies loved those cookies you made. You have me wanting peanut butter cookies. The people version not for doggies, though. lol Have a doodletastic week!

    • LOL Cathy, I was singing “Disco Duck” in my head for days…please don’t ever hesitate to join! The prompts are optional and you don’t even have to share art! You can share foodie stuff too! ♥♥

Your cartoon is really cute. Daffy looks like he is having a good time. I don’t have dogs of my own, but I know you adore yours.

  4. lowcarbdiabeticJan

I did enjoy the video of the dogs, and I like your Disco Daffy.

    All the best Jan

I could swear I left a comment already or maybe I said it elsewhere. I love your Daffy … I thought of you when I did Bugs and thought maybe you would do another Bugs, but Daffy is perfect. Several other did Saturday Night Live, but none of us did the same character. Fun, right? Dog Biscuits … oh how I wish I had Izzi to make dog biscuits for. I never baked my own, but there was a gal who sold homemade dog biscuits at our Agility Trials and I often bought from her. Izzi of course didn’t care where the treats were coming from, she was just happy to get her treats. I am guessing your new dog family is starting to feel at home and know that they are loved. I admire and envy you for what you do for your animals and for all of us. You are one awesome lady!!! I am starting to think about crowns already. My art is my escape from my realities (my daughter’s realities) so I so appreciate you and your prompts even if they are sometime kind of weird🤣 Are you loving the Spring Weather?I wish you happiness, Rain and success in all that you do.

    • Thanks Andrea! ♥ I know my prompts stump me sometimes lol! I loved your Bugs, I thought about doing Bugs too but the song “Disco Duck” came to mind and I had to draw Daffy!

  6. Your flexible puppy reminds me of how I used to sit on the floor when I was a child. I don’t know how to describe it, but I bent my legs back funny and if you’d looked from above I would have looked like an M. 😂 I don’t even attempt it now!

I love Daffy Travolta there. Ha ha!

  7. Louise (Fundy Blue)

The video of the dogs is darling, Rain! Your calm and loving presence is healing the trauma of their past. This just filled my heart! I wish I were as flexible as Benny Bear ~ lol! Obviously your peanut butter treats for the critters are winners. Great drawing of Daffy in a classic disco pose! Enjoy your weekend!

  8. tomthebackroadtraller

…I like your disco duck, I have disco Grover!

  9. Traude Rostrose

Oh, Daffy discovers Night Fever, Night Fever! :-DD You did it perfectly. Your dog biscuits also look very successful, dear Rain! All the best, Traude https://rostrose.blogspot.com/2024/04/weltreise-2024-1-station-singapur.html

  10. Debra SheWhoSeeks

Yowza, Daffy has that Saturday Night Disco FEVER!

  11. Soma @ InkTorrents.com

Daffy looks like he is having a lot of fun! You have made the puppies feel so comfortable! Thanks for hosting!
