Cowboy Bark! This is a very easy and delicious recipe to make if you want something sweet and salty!

The great part about this recipe is that you can mix and match your ingredients to what you like. You just melt the chocolate and pour it into a parchment-lined pan, spread it all out. Then sprinkle in your ingredients; I use pretzels, caramels, Oreo cookies and almonds. You can push the ingredients down a little into the chocolate to make sure they’re not just sitting on top. I then sprinkle the bark with pink Himalayan salt and let it set for an hour or so at room temperature.
Note: When I make this in the summer, it’s too humid in the kitchen, so I let the bark set in the freezer for 2 hours.
Today I’m sharing a quick and easy, sweet and salty snack: Cowboy Bark!
Ingredients
450g of your favorite chocolate
1.5 cups pretzels, broken in 2-3 pieces (if you have mini pretzels, don’t break them apart)
10 Oreo cookies, chopped
5 chopped caramel squares
1/2 cup chopped almonds
Sea salt to taste
Directions
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Prep all of your ingredients so they are ready to go. You have to work fast once the chocolate is ready!
- Melt your chocolate. Use a double boiler or the microwave. I used the microwave and the chocolate took about 2 1/2 minutes to melt, I stopped to stir it every 20 seconds or so.
- Pour the chocolate into the baking tray and spread it out.
- Spread out the toppings on the chocolate and let it set for 1 hour.
Notes
- If you have a humid kitchen, you can opt to let the Cowboy Bark set in the freezer for an hour or two.
- Though some recipes say this type of snack will store well at room temperature, again, depending on the humidity of your kitchen, store it in the freezer; and take out as needed.
